F 196 There is a technical fault.

Turn the appliance off and then back on again.

The drain filter in the oven floor is not installed properly.

Turn off the appliance, seat the filter properly:

and turn the appliance back on.

If the error message shows again in spite of solving the

problem(s), contact Miele.
